This 2-day course is designed to fulfill the demands of both mining and construction blasting personnel by developing a comprehensive, practical grasp of rock breaking concepts. This training is designed so that anybody who attends will be able to return to work not just with a better understanding of blasting, but also with new strategies to use at their site to increase blast performance and explosive efficiency. Participants will study and debate the foundations of rock blasting, such as correct product selection, design of critical blast variables, overbreak control measures, and vibration controls, throughout this course.
Participants will begin with the fundamentals and progress to practical ways of rock blasting and programme optimisation for greater fragmentation, decreased vibration and air overpressure, and correct rock mass movement. Anyone who is interested in or works in rock blasting. This course provides a valuable background and can assist learners better grasp concepts such as rock blasting and overbreak management
In order to fully realize the objectives of this course, attendees would at least have a reasonable understanding of basic data manipulation and graphical display tools and techniques commonly used in MS Excel environment. A basic grasp of mining and mineral industry terminology would be great but not essential.
