Located in the heart of the mining region of Ghana, this project investigated the potential for the occurrence of errors within the sampling process from collection all the way to the model. The second part of the project was to perform a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis and profess a business case for appropriate alternative sample management protocols, together with well-chosen fit-for-purpose equipment for the firm’s ongoing and future exploration programs. The overall crux of the project was implementing an efficient metal accounting system which would ensure an accurate sampling and measurement system for a mid-tier gold miner with operations across the West African region. Key deliverables of this project included: • Development and successful implementation of NI-43-101 compliant data collection, QAQC and database management protocols (externally audited successfully by Snowden consultants). This led to the replacement of almost all sampling equipment with a whole new set • Successful set-up, validation, and compilation of the Exploration GIS database. • Successful revision and resolution of reconciliation issues within the Resource-Mill production process. • Mentorship and training of geology staff in sound geology data/database management. • Conducted detailed laboratory audits and realignment of laboratory processes to ensure internationally acceptable analytical standards are followed. Part of laboratory contract amended to achieve above objective. |
